Privacy Policy

Stepping Through Care with Dr. Val is for adult caregivers. Your journal entries, voice transcriptions, moods, prayers and trusted-contact details are private to you. They are never shown to other caregivers, never posted to The Care Circle, and never sold or shared with advertisers.

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or participate in the Care Circle.

• When you are signed out: everything you write stays in this device’s browser storage. Nothing is sent anywhere.
• When you are signed in: your journal, voice transcriptions, moods, prayers, saved encouragement, trusted-contact names and phone numbers, reminder settings and community privacy settings are also saved to a row in our hosted database, locked to your account, and a copy is kept on this device so the app works offline.
• Who hosts it: the database and application are hosted on the Lovable Cloud platform, which runs on Supabase (PostgreSQL) infrastructure in the cloud. We do not run our own servers.

Only you. Every saved row is tied to your account ID and protected by database-level row security, so no other person using the app can read it. Dr. Val, as administrator, can see who has an account — display name, email, join date and last visit — and can moderate Care Circle posts. Dr. Val cannot read your journal, your voice transcriptions, your moods, your prayers or your trusted-contact phone numbers.

A small number of platform engineers with database administrator access could technically reach stored records, as with any hosted service. They do not access your content, and access is limited to keeping the service running.

• All traffic between your device and the database uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Stored data is encrypted at rest by the hosting platform’s disk encryption.
• Row-level security rules mean a request can only ever return rows belonging to the signed-in account.
• Your content is not end-to-end encrypted. That means it is protected in transit and on disk, but it is not encrypted with a key only you hold.
• Passwords are hashed by the authentication service and checked against known breach lists.

Speech is converted to text by your device’s own browser speech feature. Depending on your browser and phone, that conversion may be performed by your device maker’s speech service (for example Google or Apple) under their privacy terms. The app keeps only the resulting text; the audio is not uploaded or stored by us.

In this first release The Care Circle is a preview. Posts you write are saved to your own account only, alongside clearly labeled example posts, and are not yet published to other caregivers. When shared posting opens, we will tell you before anything you write becomes visible to others, and you will still choose your display name or post anonymously.

• The hosting platform keeps routine encrypted database backups for disaster recovery. Deleted content may remain in a backup for a short retention window before it ages out.
• You can export everything you have written at any time, as a readable text file or a JSON file.
• You can delete all of your information permanently. Deleting removes your rows from the database and wipes this device immediately.

Both are in Profile & privacy.

• We record only your display name, join date and the days you opened the app, so Dr. Val can see how many caregivers are being served. No advertising or third-party tracking services are used.
• Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and “Read in NKJV / ESV / NIV” links open Bible Gateway. Those sites receive your request only when a page or link loads.
• If you sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in and tells us your email address.
• We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

When you sign out, everything saved on this device is erased right away, so a family tablet or library computer is left clean for the next person.

This app is intended for adult caregivers 18 years and older. It is not for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
