Help and Support

Simple answers, in plain language

I need immediate support

These are emergency resources, not the community. Nothing here is posted or shared.

If you or your loved one is in immediate danger, being harmed, thinking of self-harm, or having a medical emergency, please stop and call your local emergency number (911 in the United States) or go to the nearest emergency room. In the United States you may also call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

This app cannot diagnose a condition, prescribe treatment, or replace professional care.

Who this app is for

Faith-oriented adult caregivers seeking Scripture-based encouragement, strength, and rest.

Stepping Through Care serves adult caregivers of every gender, age, race, and background who are caring for a parent, spouse, child, relative, friend, church member, client, patient, or other loved one. That includes:

  • Family caregivers
  • Spousal caregivers
  • Adult children caring for parents
  • Parents caring for children with additional needs
  • Friends helping friends
  • Ministry caregivers
  • Professional caregivers
  • Long-distance caregivers
  • Temporary and full-time caregivers

You spend so much time caring for others. Stepping Through Care creates a sacred space where you can receive Scripture, encouragement, music, reflection, and rest. You are seen. You are valued. God is with you. You deserve care while caring for others.

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or participate in the Care Circle.

Stepping Through Care with Dr. ValFaith-Centered Strength and Support for Caregivers

Getting around

  • Today — your Scripture, devotional, prayer, affirmation, gentle step, and check-in.
  • Music — peaceful songs by Dr. Val.
  • My Journal — write or speak privately about your day.
  • Care Circle — encouragement from other caregivers.
  • A Moment for Me — breathing, rest, and self-care.

The five buttons at the top of every screen are always there. The house icon in the header always brings you back to Today.

Making text larger

Open Profile, then Reading and accessibility, and choose Large or Largest.

Is my journal private?

Yes. Journal entries, voice transcriptions, moods and prayers are private to you. When you are signed in they are saved to your own locked space in our hosted database so they follow you to another device; when you are signed out they stay on this device only. Dr. Val cannot read them. Nothing is ever moved from your journal to The Care Circle automatically.
